The StayWell Hospitality Group has recently opened their UK office and is working together with its strategic partner, Seven Capital, to identify suitable hotel development opportunities in the region. The Group’s first UK hotel will be the Park Regis Birmingham for which StayWell has secured a 30-year long term management agreement. Due to open in 2014, Park Regis Birmingham, a four-star property currently under construction, overlooks the Five Ways roundabout. The property boasts 272 guest rooms, lobby lounge and bar, rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar, library, gymnasium, spa and business centre.
StayWell is also currently negotiating a management agreement for an upmarket hotel being developed in London as well as exploring other potential opportunities in the UK including development sites and existing properties in Manchester and Edinburgh.
Simon Wan, CEO of StayWell said: “We see the Birmingham property as an appropriate opportunity to enter the UK market with a product that fits with the Park Regis brand and vision. We hope to announce further additions to our portfolio very soon.”
StayWell plans to leverage off its established brands and properties in Australia, Singapore and Dubai. StayWell’s current expansion strategy also includes further new hotels in Europe and Northern Asia, with a particular focus on India and China.
