Australia-based StayWell Hospitality Group is planning to open five new Indian hotels by the end of 2016, financial site Money Control reports.
The new hotels will be located in Hyderabad, Goa, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Noida, and will add approximately 550 rooms to the company’s Indian inventory. Currently, the group has three hotels operating in India, including Leisure Inns in Jaipur and Gurgaon and a Park Regis in Jaipur.
“We plan to do five hotel openings in India this year. The hotels will be under both of our brands – Park Regis and Leisure Inn,” StayWell’s CEO & managing director, Simon Wan, was reported saying.
He added that the company would invest more than US$10 million in the new projects.
In addition to this year’s properties, Wan revealed that he is in negotiations with two owners for six more hotels in India, including rebrands and new-builds.
“One owner has two existing hotels which he wants to be rebranded under the Park Regis portfolio. The other owner has four hotels, out of which two are existing and the remaining two are under construction,” Wan was quoted saying.
Three of the second owner’s hotels would be under Park Regis brand while the fourth would a Leisure Inn property.
