Extended and enhanced MSC Armonia has been relaunched in Genoa as MSC takes steps to double its fleet.
The new-look ship was cut in half and had a block installed that allowed more balcony cabins and larger public areas to be created.
The new spaces in partnership with LEGO and Chicco have also been introduced on the ship, which set sail on 10-night itinerary to the Canary Islands today.
Speaking in Genoa earlier this week MSC CEO Gianni Onorato said: “I’m very proud of what we and our partners at Fincantieri have achieved with MSC Armonia. Not only is the ship smarter and more spacious, but we have given it a new lease of life that will appeal to experienced cruise travellers and first-timers.”
The changes are part of a EUR200 million Renaissance programme to update three of its ships, while another four are on order to be delivered between 2017 and 2019.
