Strong earthquake hits Manila

A powerful earthquake was felt in the Philippine capital Manila yesterday, causing office workers to evacuate buildings, Channel NewsAsia has reported. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology was reported saying that the 6.2-magnitude quake struck at 1.29pm local time, with its epicenter 137km southwest of the capital. No casualties were reported.
