Super 8 turns back the clock
Turning the clock back to celebrate its heritage, the Super 8 lodging chain will sell rooms for a nightly rate of US$8.88 – the charge for one night’s stay in 1974 when the first Super 8 hotel opened – to 800 lucky people every day for eight days beginning on a date notable for the number eight: 8 August, 2008.
The special sale will continue until the 800-room daily allocation is exhausted. The US$8.88 rate, which does not include fees and taxes, may be used to book rooms at Super 8 hotels in the United States and Canada for stays through 30 December this year.
The US$8.88 offer will cap the Super 8 brand’s year-long Celebrate the 8 observance of its 34-year heritage as one of the world’s largest economy lodging chains, said John Valletta, Super 8 President.
