Surabaya’s Juanda International Airport was closed for two and a half hours yesterday as the Indonesian military (TNI) celebrated its 63rd anniversary, the Antara news agency reported. TNI spokesperson, Sagom Tamboen, said the closure was for safety reasons as the anniversary would feature aero-acrobatics displays over Surabaya airspace.
