More than three quarters of grandparents have not been on holiday with their family or plan to this year, a new survey has found.
Despite the number of multi-generational holidays said to have increased, a new poll from YouGov and SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment found that 77% of grandparents have not been away with families and have no plans to this year.
Contrary to usual opinion only 17% of grandparents felt they were invited on a family holiday to babysit, although 56% said they are likely to overspend.
However a childcare role is more likely in families with children less than three years old and one in 10 found holidays with grandchildren stressful. More than 1,00 grandparents were surveyed.
