Sustainability takes centre-stage in Sharjah

The recently concluded Hilton Sustainability Summit focused on sharing eco-best practices to further enhance environmental developments across the Sharjah community. The event was attended by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) and Bee’ah Environment and Waste Management.
SCTDA’s guest speaker HE Khaled Al Midfa said: “Sharjah has regarded environmental sustainability as an indispensable component of its tourism and commerce development strategy. The department actively encourages all organizations to maintain a sustainable approach to the way in which we all do business.”
Issues of sustainable energy were highlighted as one of the most pressing issues of our time. The summit called upon guests to make a real difference in the approach to eco-initiatives in the emirate.
The Hilton Sustainability Summit was the second of its kind in the region. The summit is set to take place at Hilton Capital Grand Abu Dhabi next year, aims to connect Hilton Worldwide properties and local stakeholders.
