Svatma, a restored family mansion at Tanjavur, Tamil Nadu, has been transformed into a boutique hotel.
The 38-room hotel offers three restaurants, a spa, swimming pool, yoga centre, library and facilities for private dining and events.
The property will also offer its guests a series of cultural activities, including visits to temples, culinary classes, dance demonstrations, and traditional painting, bronze casting and weaving demonstrations.
The city of Tanjavur houses the Chola Temples, which are UNESCO World Heritage sites, and is also the birthplace of Tanjore painting, Bharatanatyam dance and Carnatic music.
The property is accessible by air from Chennai or Trichy airports and by train.
