Sweden will help India develop its railway network, after the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for technical cooperation this week.
The Economic Times reports that the MoU, which was agreed between India’s Ministry of Railways and the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise & Innovation, is intended to “promote efficiency and sustainability and achieve concrete results.”
It will include “exchange of knowledge, technical expertise, innovation, technology, sustainable solutions and research,” the report added.
Specifically, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Railways said that the countries would work together on tilting trains, capacity allocation and maintenance.
The MoU has a duration of five years and could be extended for another five years.
