Swiss Belhotel expands in UAE and other Gulf states

The Swiss Belhotel International Group recently announced its intent to open 10 new hotels in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman and Iraq in 2015.
This is part of an aggressive expansion strategy in the region.
Noel Massoud, head of the Group’s operations and development said: “We recorded strong performance in 2014 and expect growth to continue through 2015 as a result of expansions. The group is also considering a number of offers to manage and build new hotels in Dubai.”
Massoud further added that the group has been involved in negotiations to open new hotels in Abu Dhabi. For Saudi Arabia, the new properties include two in Riyadh, one in Makkah and one in the southern town of Abha. The Group would manage two hotels in Riyadh in 2015 under its brand name.
The group also plans to open a hotel in Muscat by end of 2015 and is locked in negotiations to have another hotel in Doha.
Massoud noted that the group’s hotels include currently one in Doha, one in Bahrain, Resort Ghantout in Abu Dhabi, and one in Kuwait. “We also have plans to open a Swiss Belhotel Erbil in Iraq in 2015.We are also interested in entering new markets including Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia and Morocco in 2015,” he added.
With all the new development, the group’s portfolio will reach 136 hotels in 2016.
