Swiss-Belhotel International has announced plans to open a new hotel in Wuxi, in eastern China’s Jiangsu province. Located in the Wuxi National Industrial Design Park and neighboring the third largest freshwater lake in China, Taihu Lake, Swiss-Belhotel Wuxi will be located 6km from the city’s CBD.
Swiss-Belhotel’s Vice President for Operations and Development Steve Jui says, “Swiss-Belhotel Wuxi will be the business travelers’ hub due to its accessibility to Shanghai and Nanjing. The T-Trains will bring the travelers to the two metropolitan cities in just about an hour.”
The four-star hotel, scheduled to open in Q2 2012, will feature four towers comprising 370 guest rooms, most of which have individual balconies. Positioned as a business hotel, Swiss-Belhotel Wuxi will feature a lobby lounge, Western and Chinese restaurants, a business centre, two multi-function rooms and eight meeting rooms, fitness centre and an 800-square metre recreation centre complete with chess room, reading area, table tennis and a snooker room.
Swiss-Belhotel Chairman & President, Gavin M. Faull, said; “We are delighted to be partnering with Wuxi National Industrial Design Park Co., Ltd. on this exciting project. We envision a huge potential with this development, with Wuxi’s booming economy. As we are focused on agressive expansion, Swiss-Belhotel International’s presence in this part of Southeast China will be a good move for our Group with the city currently having a substantial progress in economy.”
