07 Jun 10 (TravMedia.com): This year Sydney Harbour Marriott is lighting up Circular Quay with a spectacular explosion of light and colour as part of the Vivid Sydney festival celebrations. As the largest festival of its kind in the southern hemisphere, Vivid Sydney is an inspiring festival of light, music and ideas which centres around the magnificent illumination of the Sydney Opera House sails, co-curated by acclaimed artist Laurie Anderson and rock legend Lou Reed.
Sydney Harbour Marriott’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Helen Radic is thrilled to be part of this creative celebration, she said “It’s an absolute honour for our hotel to be involved with such a unique festival which embraces Sydney as an artistic and dynamic city.”
Every evening until 20th June, one entire side of Sydney Harbour Marriott will be bathed with amazing arrays of bright coloured light designed by the master of lighting, Jeff Pavy. Jeff’s extensive international design projects include shows, So You Think You Can Dance, Australian Idol, Cher, Coca-Cola Live, Sing, Tom Jones and Powderfinger, who he is currently on tour with.
To celebrate Sydney Harbour Marriott’s inclusion as one of the few buildings chosen to participate in the festival, guests can enjoy the temping Vivid Delights Sugar Hit in the Macquarie Lounge which includes a sumptuous dessert tasting plate with glass of the finest dessert wine for just $20. The perfect indulgence once you’ve taken in Vivid Sydney’s dazzling attractions. To complete your evening, Icons Brassiere will be offering a delectable 3-course dinner accompanied with a class of Chandon for $49.
Helen comments, “This is such a great opportunity to see Sydney Harbour Marriott as a canvas for outstanding creative design that helps ignite the city with colour and light. It’s a stunning sight in the heart of the festival.” Both offers will run throughout the course of VIVID which is 27th May 2010 – 21st June 2010.
