Taiwan-China tourist arrivals fall short of target

The number of Chinese tourist arrivals to Taiwan is not expected to meet the Taipei government’s target of 100,000 this year, Taiwan News has reported. According to statistics from Taiwan’s National Immigration Agency, about 68,000 Chinese citizens visited Taiwan in the first 10 months of this year. Based on these figures, the estimated total number for the first 11 months will be about 80,000, immigration officials are reported to have said.
