Officials in Taiwan are planning to build a huge resort-casino complex with investment of at least US$910 million, if local voters approve a gambling referendum. Reuters reported that the government of Penghu County, an outlying archipelago, has proposed its casino resort be built on 130 coastal hectares, complete with hotels, duty-free shops, a convention centre and a golf course.
