The Taiwan Tourism Bureau made its foray in the East India market by organising a travel mart and a B2B workshop in
Kolkata.
The event kicked off with 100-plus agents from Kolkata interacting with the officials from Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s Singapore office as well as its representative office in India, senior managers from Cathay Pacific and representative from Good Times Vacations.
“Taiwan is blessed with natural beauty, scenic areas, great food, astonishing history and culture and the towering Taipei 101. This makes it a great destination for the Indian traveller. We are very happy with the response we are getting from the East India market, and hope to continue our good relationship with the travel trade and media fraternity here,” Arthur Hsieh, director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau in Singapore office.
The country has registered 15.74% growth in terms of leisure travellers from India in 2012.
