Taiwan’s top tourism official is in China to boost tourism relations with the mainland, the Taiwan News has reported. Director-General of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau, Janice Lai, is scheduled to spend two days in both Beijing and Nanjing to meet with Chinese tourism authorities.
Speaking to the media at Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport, Lai expressed the hope that Taiwan would attract around 20,000 Chinese tourists each month after the number of cross-strait weekend charter flights and their destinations are increased later this year.
