TezJet Airlines, a prominent Kyrgyzstani carrier, has launched its direct passenger service between Delhi and Bishkek, starting 7 December 2025. The weekly service, operating every Sunday, aims to bolster tourism, trade, and cultural exchanges between India and Kyrgyzstan, offering travellers a convenient and affordable travel option.
Kyrgyzstan, often dubbed the "Switzerland of Central Asia," is renowned for its stunning mountain landscapes and rich nomadic culture. The new route provides Indian travellers with easy access to the country's natural beauty and cultural heritage, including the crystal-clear Issyk-Kul Lake and the vibrant city of Bishkek. With simplified visa procedures and expanding tourism infrastructure, Kyrgyzstan is becoming a popular destination for Indian tourists and filmmakers.
The inaugural flight ceremony at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi featured a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by the Kyrgyzstan Ambassador and dignitaries from GMR Airport. Passengers were welcomed with decorations and a cake-cutting ceremony to mark the occasion. Arun Kumar, President and CEO of TezJet, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "This route represents not only a new flight but a new bridge connecting two vibrant regions."
Aeroprime Group, TezJet's General Sales Agent (GSA) in India, will oversee passenger and cargo sales, marketing, and operations. Abhishek Goyal, Executive Director and CEO of Aeroprime Group, highlighted the potential for tourism and business growth, saying, "The commencement of direct flights will unlock immense opportunities for tourism and business."
TezJet Airlines, established in 2013, is committed to providing safe and affordable air travel, with a focus on passenger comfort and operational efficiency. The airline continues to expand its international routes, connecting Kyrgyzstan to key regional markets.
