Thai Airways International (THAI) has held a Buddhist ceremony to anoint its two newly-refurbished aircraft. Somdej Phra Maha Racha Mangkalajarn (pictured left), the abbot of Bangkok’s Wat Paknam temple, presided over the ceremony for the Airbus A330-300, named ‘Sukhothai’, and a Boeing 777-200ER, named ‘Nakorn Pathom’. Also present at the ceremony was THAI’s President, Piyasvasti Amranand (second from left), and members of the airline’s management.
Both aircraft have been retro-fitted with new seats and in-flight entertainment systems.
