Services in and out of Bangkok’s main airport hub have endured this period of unseasonal flooding in the Bangkok region unscathed. In order to assist air passengers that have been affected by flooding, the national carrier Thai Airways International (THAI) is conducting special services to facilitate travel.
THAI will increase its seat capacity on flights to destinations in Thailand. This will create more travel options for passengers flying in and out of Suvarnabhumi Airport, offering connections to other major cities such as Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Khon Kaen, Phuket, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani.
The carrier has also opened additional check-in counters at Bangkok’s Airport Rail Link, Makkasan Station. Passengers can check-in, three hours before departure, for all THAI’s flights departing Suvarnabhumi Airport between 1000 – 0120. Furthermore, tickets issued before 30 November with travel period during 1 October – 15 December 2011 can be changed free of charge.
