Three of Thailand’s low-cost airlines (LCCs) have announced the reduction and rescheduling of services due to high fuel costs. Nok Air, One-Two-Go and Thai AirAsia have all slashed their services to cope with the pressures of mounting costs. On Tuesday Nok Air cut three domestic Thai routes – Bangkok-Chiang Rai, Bangkok-Ubon Ratchathani and Bangkok-Krabi. It is also considering reducing the frequency of its Phuket services. Nok has already cancelled international services from Bangkok to Bengaluru and Hanoi. One-Two-Go has reduced the frequency of its Bangkok-Chiang Mai and Bangkok-Phuket services from 28 down to 21 per week to 21. It has also significantly cut flights on its routes between Bangkok and Hat Yai, Chiang Rai and Nakhon Si Thammarat. Thai AirAsia has cancelled its weekly flight to Xiamen, although the airline also said it had no immediate plans to cut any more services.
