Thai luxury resort brand launches at ITB

A new Thailand-based luxury resort brand, akyra, has been launched at ITB. The new brand has been launched by Akaryn Hospitality Management Services’ (AHMS) managing director, Anchalika Kijkanakorn (pictured). It has unveiled its first property – the akyra Chura Samui, at ITB. Set to open in the Thai resort island’s Chaweng Beach area in June 2011, the akyra Chura Samui will offer 62 rooms and suites, as well as a spa with meditation rooms, a beachfront Japanese restaurant, a library, boutique, and free Wi-Fi throughout the resort. All akyra properties will be managed by AHMS. “Koh Samui is the perfect venue to launch our concept and I am sure it will be very well received,” said Ms Kijkanakorn. She added that further announcements would be made soon regarding the expansion of the akyra brand.
