A new Thailand-based luxury resort brand, akyra, has been launched at the ITB travel trade show in Berlin. The company, which is led by Akaryn Hospitality Management Services’ (AHMS) Managing Director and Aleenta Resorts Founder, Anchalika Kijkanakorn (pictured), used the event to unveil its first property – the akyra Chura Samui.
Set to open in Samui’s Chaweng Beach area in June 2011, the akyra Chura Samui will offer 62 rooms and suites, including power showers and in-room music selections. Other resort facilities will include a spa with his and hers meditation rooms, a beachfront Japanese restaurant, free Wi-Fi throughout the resort, tai chi and yoga classes, plus a library and a boutique.
All akyra properties will be managed by AHMS.
“We are very well established in the luxury sector with our Aleenta resorts in Phuket and Hua Hin and, as AHMS expands this year, we are launching our lifestyle brand akyra and the very first one is on a wonderful stretch of beach on Koh Samui,” said Ms Kijkanakorn. “Koh Samui is the perfect venue to launch our concept and I am sure it will be very well received.”
Ms Kijkanakorn added that further announcements would be made soon regarding the expansion of the akyra brand.
