THAI offers early retirements

Thai Airways has offered early retirement to 500 staff, following the announcement of second quarter losses amounting to US$278 million, the Bangkok Post has reported. THAI’s President, Apinan Sumanaseni, said the airline had set aside THB700 million (US$20.9 million) to encourage employees to retire early under its “Mutual Separation Plan”. Thai Airways employs an estimated 29,000 staff.
