Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) Cabin Crew Trainers recently held a joint meeting with UNIFEM on the CHANGE NOW campaign between the two organizations.
Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol is the UNIFEM Goodwill Ambassador for Thailand. Her message on “Say NO to Violence Against Women” is emphasized through a video that THAI airs onboard flights to destinations worldwide.
Mrs. Bhinkham Rohitasthira, THAI Vice President of Commercial Development and Support Department, along with cabin crew representatives from the In-flight Services Department, met with regional and local UNIFEM representatives, Mr. Mark Wallem and Ms. Nazia Ijaz, to promote the understanding of UNIFEM and the onboard fundraising initiative CHANGE NOW, which THAI also supports.
The CHANGE NOW drive aims to raise funds by collecting loose change or donations from passengers on board THAI flights, for the “Say NO to Violence Against Women” campaign sponsored by UNIFEM, a women’s fund of the United Nations.
The cabin crew listened to a short video from Dr. Jean D’Cuna, UNIFEM Regional Programme Director, explaining that UNIFEM works with Thailand’s Ministry of Justice, as well as the Ministry of Education for the CHANGE NOW initiative, through legislations, preventive programs, public awareness programs, and with schools.
