A Thai Buddhist temple has found a novel way of dealing with the problem of discarded bottles around its premises. Reuters has reported that Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew is using discarded bottles to build everything on the premises, from a crematorium to toilets.
Better known as Wat Lan Kuad, or the Temple of Million Bottles, the temple first started using discarded bottles in 1984 to decorate the monks’ shelters.
“The more bottles we get, the more buildings we make,” Abbot San Kataboonyo told Reuters.
