Thailand aims to drive Japanese MICE with Tokyo event

Thailand is planning to drive more MICE groups from Japan with the launch of a major event in Tokyo.
The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) will conduct its ‘Thailand CONNECT the World: Japan Business Events Road Show 2015’ event on 21 April 2015 at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
The aim is stage a series of concurrent events, including an press conference, buyer-seller meetings and a dinner reception, with the aim of promoting Thailand’s MICE industry and introducing TCEB’s new brand campaign, ‘Thailand CONNECT the World’.
An estimated 200 buyers, suppliers, international media and industry experts are expected to attend the events, and TCEB said it would use the event to announce a new marketing promotion created especially for Japanese MICE market.
“The event will provide new insights into Thailand’s MICE industry as well as the overview of trade and relations between Thailand and Japan, and the Thai government’s policy in building the confidence and moving forward to the ASEAN Economic Community,” explained Nopparat Maythaveekulchai, president of TCEB.
The event will be attended by representatives from Thailand’s Ministry of Tourism & Sports, Customs Department, Ministry of Finance, Immigration Bureau and Airports of Thailand.
