THAI’s new schedule aimed at boosting tourism

18 Oct 09 (TravMedia.com): Thai Airways International Public Company Limited announces new direct flights and increased frequencies in its Winter Schedule 2009/10 to boost international tourism to Thailand.
More flights to and from Thailand are added to intercontinental routes Perth - Australia, Oslo - Norway, Moscow - Russia and Los Angeles - USA, with an improved schedule for Brisbane. The new (winter) schedule flights are effective 25 October 2009 to 27 March 2010.
In order to serve the traveling demands of Australian market, THAI will adjust the flight schedule between Brisbane and Bangkok with five non-stop return flights each week. These non-stop flights to Bangkok will provide Queenslanders with more convenient connections to and from Europe and Asia. The improved schedule is designed to increase tourism between Thailand and Australia, especially Bangkok and Brisbane.
THAI will operate a new B777-200 aircraft on the Brisbane-Bangkok route, with superb inflight entertainment system and onboard service.
In addition, the Perth-Bangkok non-stop flights will be increased from two to four flights per week. Perth also maintains 3 non-stop services from Perth to Phuket to cope with increased demand for the resort island during the high season.
Changes have also made to THAI’s extensive network in the Northern hemisphere.
In North America, THAI flights between Los Angeles and Bangkok will become daily, starting from 1 December, 2009. To Europe, THAI increases flights between Oslo and Bangkok from five flights/per week to seven flights/per week (daily flight) as well as Moscow and Bangkok from three to four flights / per week.
In view of the peak season for Thailand domestic tourism, THAI also increases its flights to Chiang Mai and Phuket, totaling 10 flights per day for both destinations.
