The Thai Airways International (THAI) Board approved the establishment of ThaiTiger Airways with a change to the shareholding structure. THAI will hold a 49.9% share and employees of ThaiTiger who have Thai citizenship will hold a collective 1.1% share, totalling 51% shares held by Thai shareholders. For the remaining shares, 39% will be held by Tiger Airways Holdings Limited and 10% by Ryan Asia Limited. The THAI Tiger board will also assume an additional two members and will now constitute four THAI representatives, two Tiger Airways members and a seventh from Ryan Air. Though the route network is not yet decided, it is likely the Thai based carrier will provide low cost flights from Thailand to India and North Asia.
