CHRIS BAILEY has been appointed CEO of the Royal Phuket Marina. He steps into the new role following a 12-year stint with Centara Hotels & Resorts, where he most recently served as chief operating officer. Bailey will now oversee the next phase of the marina’s extensive expansion strategy.
GEOFF ANDREW has been named as Worldhotels’ new chief executive officer, replacing Dirk Fuehrer. An experienced hotel executive with 30 years’ experience, Andrew has held senior positions with Corinthia and Summit Hotels. Previously he spent seven years as managing director of Nexus.
MAURIZIO BISICKY has been appointed chief commercial officer of Anantara Vacation Club. The move marks a promotion for Bisicky, who joined the company in May and formerly served as senior vice president of sales & marketing. He will now oversee the club services and resort operations teams.
CAPTAIN BADRUL HISHAM BIN YUSOFF has become the new chief risk officer for the Malaysian Aviation Group, the parent company of Malaysia Airlines. An experienced pilot who has flown the Airbus A380, Captain Badrul has been employed with Malaysia Airlines since 1980.
KENNETH HATTON has become the new senior vice president of global development for Belmond, the company formerly known as Orient Express. An Irish national, he joins with 18 years of experience, most recently as senior vice president of Hyatt’s corporate transactions group.
MICHAEL MURPHY has become the new general manager of the Evason Ana Mandara in Nha Trang, Vietnam. No stranger to Six Senses, Murphy was the pre-opening GM of the Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain in China until October 2015. He then became GM of the Vinpearl Luxury Nha Trang.
MADHU JOSHI has been announced as AccorHotels’ new director of marketing for India. She brings over 16 years of experience to the role, the last seven of which have been spent with AccorHotels. Most recently she was director of national marketing & communications for Hotel Formule1.
ATSUSHI CHIYOMA has been appointed general manager of the Sunway Hotel Hanoi. Leslie, as he is better known, is a Japanese national with extensive experience across Asia Pacific, including spells with Shangri-La, Millennium & Copthorne, Laguna Phuket, Melia Hotels and Starwood.
CHRISTIAN ZUNK has been named as the general manager of akyra Thonglor Bangkok, Akaryn Hotel Group’s first property in the Thai capital. He joins the company with 22 years’ experience, most recently at the Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand.
EILEEN KHEW has become the new director of sales & marketing for the Marina Mandarin Singapore. She brings a wealth of experience to the new role, most recently serving as area director of sales & marketing for Far East Hospitality, handling three hotels in Singapore.
DALIP SINGH has been hired as hotel manager of Marco Polo’s three Hong Kong properties: Marco Polo Hongkong Hotel, Prince Hotel and Gateway Hotel. A Singaporean national, Singh has more than 20 years’ experience, including spells with Ritz-Carlton and Dusit International.
