JENNIFER CRONIN has been named as the new vice president of sales & marketing for Marco Polo Hotels. Ms Cronin is currently finishing her PHD, and previously held the position as vice president of sales & marketing with Dusit International. She has also worked for Hyatt and Ritz-Carlton.
MARCO DEN OUDEN has been appointed general manager of the Alila Villas Soori. A Dutch national, den Ouden’s career spans 24 years with companies including IHG, NH Hotels and Jin Jiang. He arrives in Bali from the Maldives where he was general manager of the Huvafen Fushi resort.
DAVID HILL has been named as the new general manager of the Bintan Lagoon Resort. A British national with more than 24 years’ experience, Hill arrives at the resort from WMC Property Management Group in Vietnam, where he was general manager. He has also worked for Marriott.
TARIK TEMUCIN has been announced as the new hotel manager of the Ritz-Carlton Beijing and JW Marriott Hotel Beijing. With a hospitality career spanning more than 10 years, Temucin has worked at Ritz-Carlton hotels in several countries including Turkey, Singapore and China.
KENNETH BRUCE HILL has been announced as Banyan Tree’s new director of sales & marketing for Bangkok and Laos, overseeing the Banyan Tree Bangkok and Maison Souvannaphoum hotel in Luang Prabang. Hill has 25 years of experience with Ritz-Carlton, Leela, Jumeirah and Fairmont.
ROME PANITKULJAKKRAWAL has become the new group training manager for Absolute Hotel Services. A British-Thai national, he joins AHS from The Core Academy in the UK, where as business development manager he developed recruitment, training and sales aids for the hospitality sector.
HOON NAMGOONG has become the new director of food & beverage at the Swissôtel Grand Shanghai. Hoon’s career with FRHI Hotels spans 17 years, starting at the Fairmont Royal York, Toronto, in 1997. Most recently he was director of F&B at the Fairmont Yangcheng Lake in Kunshan.
COLIN CHUN has been named as the new executive chef at W Taipei. Born in Korea, Chef Chun started worked at his family’s restaurant in Busan before moving to Australia where he spent time working at the Swissotel Sydney. He now arrives in Taipei with more than 18 years’ experience.
MARIO GONZALEZ MARTIN has become the new cruise director for the luxury yacht, Alila Purnama. A Spanish national, Gonzalez Martin is an accomplished kite surfer, surfer and diver with extensive knowledge of Indonesian waters. He will now manage a crew of 16 on the traditional ‘Phinisi’ boat.
