CHARAMPORN JOTIKASTHIRA has been confirmed as the new president of Thai Airways International. He joins the airline with extensive business experience, having held the role of president of the Stock Exchange of Thailand until May this year. He has also held several senior executive positions with Siam Commercial Bank.
CHRISTOPH R. MUELLER has been announced as the next chief executive officer of Malaysia Airlines. Joining the national carrier on 1 May 2015, Mueller will replace current CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya. He joins MAS from Irish national carrier, Aer Lingus, where served as CEO since 2009.
MICHAEL BAYLEY has been named chief executive officer of Royal Caribbean International. The appointment arks the culmination of a long journey for Bayley, who worked his way up from an assistant purser’s position aboard the Nordic Prince cruise ship. He was previously president & CEO at Celebrity Cruises.
LISA LUTOFF-PERLO has been announced as Celebrity Cruises’ new president & CEO, following the departure of Michael Bayley. Having started her career working in a Celebrity sales office, Ms Lutoff-Perlo worked her way up to executive vice president of operations for Royal Caribbean.
PHILIPPE REQUIN has been announced as Six Senses’ new vice president of operations for hotels & resorts. Commencing his new role in January 2015, Requin moves to Six Senses’ Bangkok head office from London, where he was CEO Grace Hotels. He has also worked in New Zealand, Mauritius and Cyprus.
STEVEN DIXON has become Tourism New Zealand’s new regional manager for South & Southeast Asia, based in Singapore. Dixon moves to Asia from Tourism New Zealand’s Los Angeles office, where he held the position of business events manager for North America. He first joined the tourism board in 2011.
HEATHER LEISMAN has become TripAdvisor’s new vice president of industry marketing. She joins the company from HotelTonight and has also worked for Orbitz in a travel industry career spanning more than 19 years. She will now aim to drive the global marketing of TripAdvisor for Business.
RACHEL GRIER has been appointed managing director of IDeaS Revenue Solutions’ sales operations in Asia. With more than 20 years’ experience, Ms Grier has worked for several major travel technology and hospitality companies. Most recently she was Pegasus Solutions’ senior vice president of sales for Asia Pacific & Middle East.
RICHARD ONG has taken up the newly-created position of general manager of operations for Asia with Millennium & Copthorne Hotels, based in Singapore. He joins the company having held senior positions with Raffles, Ascott and Starwood, and most recently served as GM of the ANA Crowne Plaza hotel in Osaka.
CHRISTIAN METZNER has been appointed general manager of The Andaman, A Luxury Collection Resort, Langkawi. A German national, Metzner arrives at the Malaysian resort from another Luxury Collection property, The Astor Hotel in Tianjin, where he served as general manager since April 2012.
CHOOI LI LOO has been named as the W Hong Kong’s new hotel manager. A Malaysian national, she brings more than 16 years of hospitality experience to the role, including spells with Hyatt and Ritz-Carlton in Malaysia, Australia and the US. Most recently she was director of rooms at the St Regis Shenzhen.
JENS HEIER has become the new executive chef at the Dusit Thani Pattaya hotel. A German national, Chef Jens brings more than 26 years of culinary experience to the role. His career has included spells in Michelin-starred establishments in Europe, as well as restaurants in South Korea, Vietnam, China and Thailand.
