SHELDON HEE has been announced as Singapore Airlines’ new general manager for the UK & Ireland. Hee has spent the last 18 years with SIA, including a spell as general manager for Switzerland and, most recently, vice president of marketing communications. He replaces Wilson Yong.
KURT OTTO WEHINGER has become Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s new area general manager for Oceania and GM of the Parkroyal Darling Harbour in Sydney. An Austrian hospitality veteran with more than 30 years’ experience, Wehinger most recently served as GM of the Marina Mandarin Singapore.
MICHAL ZITEK has been named as the new chairman of Central Coast Vietnam Destination Marketing Organization. Zitek is also Banyan Tree’s area general manager for Vietnam, overseeing the company’s resorts at Laguna Lang Co. He takes over the chairmanship from Anthony Gill, GM of the Nam Hai.
VIKRAMJIT SINGH has been promoted to the position of president & chief revenue officer for Lemon Tree Hotels, the Indian hotel group. Singh is one of the founding members of the Lemon Tree team, having joined the group in 2005. He previously served as the company’s chief sales officer.
JULIETTE LIM has joined Marco Polo Hotels as its new vice president of human resources. In a career spanning 20 years, Ms Lim has worked with several international hotel groups, including Starwood, where she served as regional director of talent development & culture for Asia Pacific.
JON TIMMONS has been appointed chief operations officer of STR, the hotel analytics company. Timmons joins STR after a four-year stint at eviCore healthcare, where he served in various roles including director of business intelligence. He has also worked as IT director for GE Aviation.
PEDRO MENDES has been named general manager of the Premier Inn Singapore Beach Road, which will become the UK-based hotel group’s first Singaporean property when it opens later this year. A Portuguese national, Mendes previously served as cluster GM for Premier Inn, handling six hotels in London.
ANDERS LUND has been appointed general manager of the Maison Aurelia Sanur, Tauzia’s hotel in Bali. A Swedish national, Lund is just 31 years-old and began his career as a management trainee at Plaza Athenee Bangkok. He then moved to Indonesia to work for Swiss-Belhotel International.
GREG MARTIN has become the new general manager of Buffalo Tours’ sales office in Australia. He joins the Asian destination management company with more than 25 years’ experience in the Australian wholesale travel sector, most recently with Adventure World Travel. He will be based Sydney.
ATSUSHI HIRAYAMA has become Buffalo Tours’ new country manager for Japan. A Japanese national, he joins the Asian DMC with 25 years of experience in travel industry, working for inbound operators in Australia and Japan. He will now manage the Buffalo Tours team in Tokyo.
ALLAN WONG has become the new general manager at Pan Pacific Tianjin. A Malaysian national, Wong brings 20 years of experience to the Chinese property, including managing IHG hotels in Ningbo, Shenzhen and Tianjin. Most recently he headed up Tianjin Modern Group’s hotel business.
