JOHN O’SULLIVAN has become the new managing director of Tourism Australia. He joins the tourism board from Fox Sports, where he is currently employed as chief operating officer. He previously served in executive positions with Events Queensland, including a spell as CEO from 2010-2012.
SANG-WEON JE has been named as the Korean Tourism Organization’s (KTO) new director for Australia & New Zealand. Steve Je, as he is better known, has spent 20 years with the KTO, working in various departments at the organisation’s Seoul headquarters. He now relocates to Sydney.
DARREN SHAW has been appointed area general manager for Centara Hotels & Resorts in Phuket. The move marks a promotion for Australian Shaw, who is currently GM of the Centara Karon Resort Phuket. He has more than 20 years’ experience, including a spell with Outrigger Hotels & Resorts.
DR MURRAY MAZER has been named as the new head of innovation & research for Amadeus. Formerly vice president of software engineering & distributed development at Endeca Technologies, Dr Mazer will now lead the R&D department at Amadeus from the company’s Boston office.
MANOJ PAPA will become the new CEO of Air Seychelles, following the resignation of Cramer Ball. Papa joins from South African Airways, where he held the position of acting general manager of commercial. He previously had a spell with Etihad Airways, which owns a stake in Air Seychelles.
PHILIP MORRIS has been appointed director of revenue at the Dorchester Collection. Having worked in revenue management for more than 15 years, Morris joins Dorchester from his previous position at the Waldorf Astoria & Towers New York, where he worked as director of revenue management.
MURRAY SKEA has been named as Radius Travel’s new global sales director for Australia, New Zealand & Southeast Asia. With more than 15 years’ travel industry experience, Skea joins Radius from Globetrotter Corporate Travel, where he served as corporate sales executive.
MUJAHID KAREEM has been appointed as Radius Travel’s new global sales director for India & the Middle East. With 11 years’ travel industry experience, Kareem has worked in account management and sales with companies including Uniglobe and BCD Travel. He will be based in Bengaluru.
DR RASHID AL GHAILANI has become the new chief officer of human resources for Oman Air. An Omani national, Dr Al Ghailani went to university in the US and UK, before commencing a career in diplomatic service. He joins Oman Air from Takamul Investment, where he was GM of corporate affairs.
DEWI KARMAWAN has become the new assistant director of public relations at the InterContinental Bali Resort. Having graduated from a Swiss hotel school, Ms Dewi has worked at several hotels in Bali including the Le Meridien Nirwana, Hard Rock Hotel Bali and Grand Hyatt Bali in Nusa Dua.
TINA KIRFEL has been appointed as Silversea’s new general manager and sales & marketing director for the EMEA region. Ms Kirfel moves to the cruise line from Hapag Lloyd Kreuzfahrten, where she spent 13 years, most recently as director of sales & partnership marketing. She will be based in Frankfurt.
SIRAPHOB SRIYAMART has been announced as the new executive sous chef for Impact Exhibition Management, which manages Thailand’s largest convention centre. With 30 years’ experience, Chef Roong, as he is better known, will direct all F&B operations at the Impact Exhibition & Convention Center.
