Thomas Cook India has embarked on a three-city promotional tour to celebrate the launch of a new series of tours offered exclusively to residents of the state of Maharashtra.
The company’s ‘Holiday Mela’ roadshow commenced in Kolhapur and then travelled to Pune and Thane, with the aim to educating customers and the media about the new Avismarniya and Apratim tours, which cover destinations in Asia and Europe and last between six and 15 days. A series of six- and seven-day domestic tours are also available.
“Maharashtra currently contributes more than 25% of our… outbound business and given the high potential, we have identified Maharashtra as a key strategic focus for our company,” said Shibani Phadkar, Thomas Cook India’s senior vice president and head of outbound leisure travel, products, contracting, operations & tour management.
“To delight our Maharashtra customers, we have launched our unique regional Avismarniya and Apratim Tours that offer local Maharashtrian food [and] a Marathi-speaking Thomas Cook tour manager. The impressive response of over 200 bookings from our Maharashtrian customers in under two weeks is a reiteration of our belief in the Maharashtrian customer and we are very grateful for their loyalty,” she added.
International packages available to Maharashtrian travellers include the 15-day ‘Avismarniya Europe’ tour, which covers the UK, France, Belgium, Liechtenstein, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Vatican City and includes a free seven-day trip to France and Spain, the 11-day ‘Prekshaniya Europe’ tour to France, Switzerland, Italy, Vatican City, Austria and Germany, plus a free seven-day trip to London, and the seven-day ‘Apratim Asia’ tour to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, with a free six-day holiday in Thailand.
Domestic trips include seven-day tours to Kashmir, the northeast or Andaman & Nicobar Islands, or a six-day trip to Kerala.
Thomas Cook India has hired Marathi actor Atul Kulkarni to promote the tours. Guests at the three-city Holiday Mela will be able to meet with Kulkarni and other stars from the movie ‘Rajwade & Sons’.
