Thomas Cook UK & Ireland has confirmed plans to move its UK operation to Lynch Wood Business Park in Peterborough early next year.
Salman Syed, managing director, Thomas Cook UK & Ireland, announced that the company intends to relocate from its current offices in Bretton to West Point House on the Lynch Wood Business Park by April 2016.
The company first moved to the city – Thorpe Wood – in 1977 and has been at its current site in Bretton since 1996, where it today employs 1,115 staff.
Thomas Cook will lease all of West Point House, and the holiday company – together with the landlord Westmount Real Estate – will fully refurbish the building’s office and social areas over the next nine months.
The Peterborough campus remains the hub of the company’s UK business and the functions based there include the UK’s corporate head office.
In addition to Peterborough, Thomas Cook also has smaller UK operational offices and contact centres in Falkirk, Egham and Altrincham as well as an 830-strong network of stores throughout the country.
