Thomson has announced its Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be used to carry passengers to all its long-haul destinations this winter.

The tour operator will be deploying its new aircraft to select flights to long-haul destinations this winter including Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; Goa, India; Male, Maldives; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Bridgetown, Barbados; Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Mombasa, Kenya and Holguin, Cuba.

A Dreamliner will also be used to fly passengers to Mauritius in the winter 2014 programme, which goes on sales on 14 November 2013.

Speaking recently at a media launch, Mark Hall, director of product at Thomson and First Choice said: “We are growing our long-haul programme on the back of the successful Dreamliner launch. Winter 2014 is an exciting time for us with this long-haul growth, on top of new destinations in Mexico and Caribbean and the flights to Thailand and Mauritius.”

In 2014 the tour operator will offer holidays to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico as well as the hideaway island of Holbox, with the latter only available in a twin-centre trip.

“Mexico is a popular holiday choice for our customers and we are delighted to be able to show them different sides of the country – from the Pacific Coast to the peaceful island of Holbox,” said Hall.

Thomson Couples will expand with two new additions for 2014/15 in what Hall called the group’s “fastest growing brand”.

The Platinum Yucatan Princess All Suites and Spa will open in Playacar, Mexico while the Grand Lido Negril Resorts & Spa will open in Jamaica.

The Sensatori Jamaica will also be available in winter 2014, which will also be offering weddings alongside the Sensatori Mexico.

In the weddings market new ‘Gourmet Inclusive’ packages are available at the Sensatori properties and the El Dorado by Karisma, which offer a more personalised offering.

Finally in Florida, Thomson and First Choice will offer the Disney MyMagic+ bands which as a room key and credit card to pay for items in its theme parks.
