Thomson opened the first of its new next-generation stores today at Bluewater Shopping Centre, Kent.
The new Holiday Design Store has a video ‘shop window’ to inspire potential holidaymakers, with an interactive map and table inside so customers can research their holidays.
Screens around the shop show information such as ‘top 10s’, weather updates, reviews and videos as well as social media feeds.
The store is sectioned into zones such as the ‘pool area’, Advice Bar and larger booths where they can view information.
“The opening of our first next generation store today is very exciting for the business as it showcases the future for our retail network. Central to the concept is the designing of unique holiday experiences customers cannot find elsewhere,” said Kathryn Ward, director of retail for TUI UK & Ireland.
“We’re combining the knowledge and expertise of our people with a range of technology that will really bring choosing and booking a holiday to life
and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first customers to the store,” she added.
