Thomson wins social media accolade

Travel giant Thomson has picked up the top prize for its activity on social media by analysis specialist Socialbakers.
The findings, which looked at the interaction of multi-national brands on social media sites, measured response times, the quantity of posts addressed and how many the firm’s ignored.
Thomson averaged a response time of around 170 minutes and answered 1,453 posts on Facebook with a response rate of 96.96%.

Our challenge is to continue to build on this success so we can increase our brand engagement with customers and create the best possible holiday experiences for them.”
Thomson was followed in the list by Virgin Media, EE and Sky who had response rates of 90.85%, 91.66% and 90.61% respectively. First Choice Holidays and Thomas Cook came in seventh and eighth place with response rates of 98.22% and 93.02% respectively.
