Three new general managers for Mercure UK hotels

Three new general managers have been appointed for three new Mercure hotels; Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel, Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch Hotel and the Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel.

The appointments bring expertise of the Mercure brand to the new properties, all three of which joined the Mercure portfolio in October 2015 following the signing of a management contract with Amaris Hospitality Limited.

An area general manager, Andy Bellamy, has also been appointed. All four appointments are already effective.

Chris Hull has been named general manager of Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel. He joins from the nearby Mercure Chester Abbots Well Hotel where he also was a GM.

Overlooking the Dock Front World Heritage Site, the iconic Liver Building and ACC Liverpool, Mercure Liverpool Atlantic Tower Hotel is centrally located and popular with business travellers. An affordable business hub, the hotel boasts seven contemporary meetings and event spaces – including a 120-seat theatre and upmarket French Boardroom on the 12th floor with spectacular views of the River Mersey. The hotel is also being refurbished this year.

Karin Snoek has acquired responsibility of Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch Hotel. Having previously held senior management positions at Mercure Bristol Holland House Hotel and Mercure Oxford Eastgate Hotel. Karin is a successful graduate of the Accor UK Management Development Program. Mercure Dartford Brands Hatch will also undergo a refurbishment in 2016.

The property offers MICE and group organisers the unique combination of MICE facilities with on-site access to one of Britain’s most recognisable sporting hubs and its activities. Located in the Kent countryside on the outskirts of Dartford, the 121-bedroom property shares an entrance with Britain’s best-loved race circuit, Brands Hatch. Many of the hotel’s bedrooms overlook the track.

Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel has welcomed Sebastian Brunet as GM. Brunet has already enjoyed successful positions at Mercure Aberdeen Ardoe House Hotel & Spa and the Mercure Stratford Upon Avon Shakespeare Hotel.

Built in 1892, Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel offers preserved Victorian features located in the heart of the city close to Aberdeen’s many parks, museums, shops, attractions and positioned in surrounding gardens. The hotel features 83 rooms, a bistro and lounge bar and four function suits with capacity for 75, equipped to cater for MICE and business events.

Newly appointed area general manager Mercure Hotels UK, Andy Bellamy, brings a wealth of experience to the role having formerly worked as general manager for Amaris Hospitality within Hilton and Jurys Inn brands. Previous to that, Bellamy worked in various management positions with Louvre Hotels and Golden Tulip.
