Tiger passenger traffic surges 29%

Tiger Airways has reported strong passenger growth for January 2011. In line with a significant boost in capacity, the low-cost carrier’s demand increased 29% year-on-year last month, with load factors declining slightly to 84%. In January, Tiger commenced services between Singapore and Taipei and increased its daily services between Singapore and Jakarta to double daily. Tiger Airways’ Singapore and Australia operations plan to increase capacity by 41% and 20% respectively in 2011.
