Touchdown Holidays has signed a long-term deal with Sabre Travel Network. Under the agreement Touchdown intends to put recent challenges behind to leverage its partnership with Sabre and ‘re-energise travel demand and growth’. “The recession, aviation taxes and ash crisis have not only impacted travel demand and spend in the corporate and leisure sector but also within the travel industry itself,” explained Touchdown Executive Director Steve Finch. “However, we believe that with the right technology, we can implement low fares that will stimulate travel demand and help fill otherwise empty airline seats with travel industry employees, who can then go on to promote the product to the general public”. The company specialises in providing reduced-price travel arrangements for travel industry employees. An independent study by Topaz showed Sabre’s air shopping facilities proved to find the lowest fares four times more than its GDS competitors. “We can help Touchdown achieve its objectives by providing innovative solutions that will help them make money, save money and optimise the service they provide customers,” added Sabre Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa Martin Cowley.
