Local tour operators have praised the newly agreed visa exemption plan between Vietnam and Cambodia, VietnamNet Bridge has reported. Vietnam and Cambodia penned the deal last week to boost tourism and trade between the two countries, and travel firms in Vietnam have it has already had the effect of boosting the number of local people requesting travel to Cambodia.
“The number of the guests will increase if tourists can travel to the country without visa,” said Ta Thi Cam Vinh, head of Ho Chi Minh City-based Thanh Tourist’s outbound department. Ta Thi added that her company expects to see a 100% increase in tourist numbers to Cambodia as a result.
