Tourism Australia launches F&B campaign

This month will see the international roll-out of Tourism Australia’s ‘Restaurant Australia’ campaign.
This new promotional drive will aim to draw more visitors from 17 key source markets, including Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong, by showcasing the best of Australian F&B.
The Hong Kong launch took place last week with an Aussie-inspired ‘long table’ lunch for 100 guests and media prepared by Australian chefs Ben O’Donohue and Eddie Cofie at harbour-front restaurant, Alfresco Lane.
Following this on 23 September, the Korean launch event will take place in Seoul, with up to 100 guests, trade and media attending an outdoor event at the Australian Ambassador’s residence.
Finally on 26 September by the Singapore launch will involve Tetsuya Wakuda, who heads up the Waku Ghin restaurant at Marina Bay Sands. This event will focus of Tasmanian seafood.
“Our aim is to demonstrate Australia’s culinary credentials on a global stage, and what better way to do it than harnessing our country’s best chefs, freshest produce and finest wines, all served up in the most iconic of Australian venues overseas,” said Tourism Australia’s managing director, John O’Sullivan.
