Trafalgar has launched a new series of guided holidays aimed at the Chinese market.
The company’s new Mandarin guided holiday programmes will offer a selection of multi-night itineraries, all escorted by Mandarin-speaking tour guides. Tours were initially trialled for customers in mainland China, and will now be rolled out to Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Australia. Itineraries are available in Europe and the US.
“We recognised the need for a Chinese programme because these Mandarin-speaking travellers, although they want to travel with like-minded people, are also discerning individuals who just don’t want the standard group travel product,” said Robin Yap, president of the Travel Corporation in Asia.
“Our research and knowledge of this important market shows they seek a deeper, more meaningful experience of travel; however it has to be carefully curated with a mixture of special comforts such as more Asian style meals, unique guiding and personal time.
“By creating such a customised programme as this, we intend to broaden our appeal to a wider audience, and most importantly, have our Chinese guests experience enriching moments in Europe with the added comfort of their first language,” Yap added.
Trafalgar’s Mandarin series in Europe will range from nine- to 13-day tours across the UK, France, Greece, Spain, Switzerland and Italy, while the US itineraries include eight-, 11- and 12-day trips to Florida, Hawaii and the country’s national parks.
