A new international travel and tourism college specialising in executive education for the travel and tourism industry has launched in Spain.
JSF Travel & Tourism School has attracted the support of industry stakeholders including Hotelbeds Group, Barceló Group, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, Riu Hotels & Resorts, Deloitte, Amadeus, Apple Leisure Group, Catenon and BBVA.
It operates a curriculum devised by IESE Business School and The Wharton School. Two courses will initially be offered: a Senior Executive Program for the Travel & Tourism Industry, which will be held by IESE in New York, Hong Kong and Mallorca; and the JSF / Wharton Travel & Tourism Innovation Program, offered in Silicon Valley, San Francisco. Likewise, Universia will also play a key role in the relationship with universities to attract talent to the tourism sector.
Jaime Fluxá, President of JSF T&T School, commented: “The school has been created with the purpose of becoming a world reference within the tourism industry, at both an academic level (graduate studies and executive education), and in regard to research and entrepreneurial support, with the guarantee of knowing it comes from within the industry itself.”
Antonio Peña, the director of the Business School, added: “Our mission is to attract talent towards the travel and tourism industry sector and develop it within a framework of social responsibility, having a positive impact on people, companies and society. We are investing in our people.”
For three intensive weeks in New York (February 2017), Hong Kong (April 2017) and Mallorca (June 2017), the programme, Senior Executive Program for the Travel and Tourism Industry, will gather Presidents, Managing Directors and, in general, the senior management of the main tourism corporations so they can address the main challenges of the industry, which exist in an environment marked by uncertainty, globalisation and digital transformation.
