Singapore-based online travel search company UeeeU.com has signed a memorandum of understanding with Yahoo! Southeast Asia.
According to the Business Times, UeeeU.com, a global travel search, booking and e-commerce platform, has been headquarted in Singapore since 2006.
Tony Gu Tao, Vice President, Marketing, was quoted saying; “The growth rate of travel in Asia is almost triple that of the US and Europe. We’ve looked at the booking behaviour patterns for Asia and may are choosing the online method. There is big potential for us in Asia.”
According to its website, Ueeeu.com provides its services with a database from 86,000 hotels, 60,000 attractions, 22,000 travel agencies, 10,000 entertainment & health care centres, 110,000 restaurants and major airlines/ticketing agencies.
Ueeeu.com said its mobile users currently number more than 5 million.
Yahoo! Southeast Asia Managing Director and Vice President, Ken Mandel, was quoted saying; “The Internet is easily fragmented and there are a lot of websites out there… It can be quite overwhelming. There are many new users in Southeast Asia and we want to make the Internet as accessible for them as possible.”
