Travelodge has opened its fifth hotel in Bristol.
The new purpose built, Bristol Filton Travelodge is the company’s 533rd hotel. The 90- room property, with Bar Café and free on-site car parking is located in the heart of the aerospace industry at Concorde Roundabout, Hayes Way, Bristol, BS34 5GN.
The hotel represents a property investment of £7.5 million for the landlord and has created 25 new jobs. All positions have been filled via Travelodge’s long standing partnership with Job centre Plus – helping the long term unemployed back to work.
The chairman of Filton Town Council, Councillor Darryl Collins, joined Travelodge revenue director Tom Edwards and Bristol Filton Travelodge hotel manager Jonus Yang to officially open the new hotel.
Bristol Filton Travelodge has been designed in the company’s new contemporary brand design which includes a new upgraded room concept. The new modern room design features a bespoke king-size bed called the ‘Travelodge Dreamer’. In addition, all family rooms now offer individual beds for children.
Jonus Yang said: “We are delighted to open our fifth hotel in Bristol. The local economy is growing at pace and there is an increasing need for good quality accommodation at a great value price from visiting business and leisure travellers.
“Our new hotel in Filton has got off to a flying start. Customers love the new upgraded contemporary room design and our new beds are a big hit. We have been inundated with customer requests on how they can get hold of a Travelodge Dreamer Bed for their home.
“During the week we are busy with business customers and at the weekend its leisure travellers who are visiting local attractions or breaking up their trip en route to Wales, Cornwall and Devon. This is great news for the local economy as our research shows that annually Travelodge customers will spend over £2 million with local businesses during their stay.”
Each room has en-suite facilities with eco-friendly showers, in-room toiletries including liquid soap, a flat screen TV with 18 free digital channels, free tea and coffee making facilities, and free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes during every stay.
