United Airlines has extended its current full content agreement with Travelport. Through the deal, which will run into 2013, the airline will provide access to all its published fares and seat inventory on the Apollo, Galileo and Worldspan GDS systems. This includes web fares from its own site, reservation offices and third parties. In addition, United is offering agents the option to sell Economy Plus passenger upgrades. Theses upgrades will be available through agency point of sales tools Apollo Focalpoint, Galileo Desktop and Worldspan GoRes. Eventually these will also be available through Travelport Universal Desktop. “This extension provides United with a cost-effective solution to distribute upgrades to Economy Plus to Travelport subscribers in a flexible, innovative and appropriate manner,” said United Airlines Managing Director Distribution and e-Commerce Robert McDowell.
