Luxury Scottish golfing resort Trump Turnberry has reopened its doors to guests after a £200m eight-month restoration.
The main hotel building, which has been under construction since September, has been renovated and includes the remodelling of all guest rooms and suites plus the hotel’s bars and restaurants.
The Turnberry Lighthouse has been fully restored and converted into a spectacular, £3,500-per night two bedroom, presidential suite.
A ceremonial ribbon cutting of the property will take place at the hotel on 24 June, which will officially commemorate the reopening of the 110 year-old property. It will be attended by the hotel’s owner and the frontrunner for the US Republican presidential nomination, Donald Trump.
Trump Turnberry will be managed by Ralph Porciani, a veteran hotelier of the UK hospitality industry, having held positions within the Four Seasons Regent Hotel (now the Landmark), The Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park and the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane.
Porciani commented: “We have always known that the newly renovated Trump Turnberry would be among the finest hotels anywhere in the world. The Trump Organisation has spared no expense – it is a genuine masterpiece.
“Guests can expect an opulent and very private experience at Trump Turnberry, which is hidden away in a richly historic landscape with breathtaking views. No request will be too great, and no detail too small.”
The hotel refurbishment has consisted of the upgrade of 103 guest rooms, including four suites. Included in the renovation is The Grand Tea Lounge & Bar, The Duel in the Sun restaurant and the introduction of a new Italian cuisine concept, Il Tramonto, within the hotel’s signature 1906 restaurant. Opening in August is the Donald J. Trump Ballroom, a 500-person grand ballroom.
